SALARY: R107 196 per annum
CENTRE: Citrusdal Hospital
REQUIREMENTS: Minimum requirement: Basic literacy and numeracy Experience: Appropriate cleaning experience. Inherent requirement of the job: Ability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays and in other departments. Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Willingness to undergo formal/informal in-service training. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Basic computer literacy (MS Word and Excel). Appropriate knowledge of infection control and safety procedures in a hospital environment.
DUTIES: Provide a clean, safe and hygienic environment in terms of standards and procedures to prevent injuries and the spread of infection which includes sweeping, scrubbing, mopping floors, dusting, polishing floors and furniture, emptying bins daily, cleaning windows, light shades, walls and toilets, sluices and drains Ensure that cleaning equipment, eg polishing and scrubbing machines, mops, brooms and buckets are clean after use and securely stored. Effectively use cleaning agents and stock as well as stock control. Ensure cost-effective management of cleaning supplies. Attend in-service training appropriate to service delivery and give effective support to supervisor and colleagues. Assist with serving meals and beverages to patients.
