Key Responsibilities
As an Ackermans Shop Assistant/Cashier, your main duties will include:
- Customer Service
- Provide exceptional service to ensure a great shopping experience
- Assist customers in finding products and answering queries
- Handle customer complaints professionally and efficiently
- Cashier Duties
- Process cash and card payments accurately
- Handle Lay-Bys and customer refunds
- Report any discrepancies or till issues to your supervisor
- Balance the till at the end of your shift
- Merchandising and Housekeeping
- Ensure stock is correctly priced, tagged, and displayed
- Replenish shelves to maintain product availability
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the store
- Stay informed about ongoing sales promotions
- Risk Management
- Follow company policies for product tagging and loss prevention
- Participate in regular stock takes
- Stay alert for shoplifting or fraudulent activity and report suspicious behavior

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
