About the Job

As a Sales Assistant, you’ll play a key role in creating an exceptional shopping experience for every customer. You’ll work up to 27 hours per week, gaining valuable retail experience in a fast-paced and supportive environment.
Purpose of the Position
As a Sales Assistant at PEP, you’ll help drive sales, maintain stock accuracy, and provide excellent customer service. You’ll assist customers with their purchases, operate the till, and support overall store operations while keeping costs low.

Key Responsibilities
As a Part-Time Sales Assistant, your daily tasks will include:
- Creating a positive and safe shopping environment by following all security procedures.
- Managing the cash register efficiently and accurately.
- Keeping the store neat, well-organized, and cost-effective.
- Assisting customers with purchases, offering product recommendations, and ensuring a pleasant experience.
- Handling customer questions and concerns professionally.
- Staying informed about promotions, sales, and product updates.
- Meeting daily and weekly sales goals.
- Helping with stock orders, deliveries, and store displays.
- Maintaining strong product knowledge to assist customers effectively.
- Ensuring honest and trustworthy handling of all cash transactions.
Note: The position requires honesty and integrity when dealing with cash or financial transactions.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you’ll need:
- A Matric (Grade 12) certificate.
- Previous experience in retail or customer service (such as Cashier, Sales Assistant, Store Associate, Retail Assistant, or General Worker).
- Proficiency in English (verbal and written).
- A clear criminal record.
- Residence within 15km of the hiring store.
Preferred Skills & Attributes
While not mandatory, the following will give you an advantage:
- South African citizenship.
- Computer literacy.
- A genuine passion for retail and helping customers.
- Candidates aged 20–35 are encouraged to apply.
