REQUIREMENTS : A 3-year tertiary qualification in Environmental Health, Mechanical
Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical
Engineering, Chemistry, Construction, Biology, Microbiology, Biomedical
Science, Biotechnology, Biochemistry. A legitimate driver’s license. Two (2) years
functional in inspections and enforcement of labour legislations or in the
relevant environment. Knowledge: Departmental insurance policies and procedures,
Occupational Health and Safety Act, as amended, OSH Regulations, South
African National Standards (Codes)- integrated (Codes grow to be
regulations), Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act,
Unemployment Insurance Act, Employment Equity Act- applicable key elements,
Relevant recommendations of the aforementioned legislation. Skills: Planning and
organising, Communication skills, Computer Literacy, Facilitation skills,
Interpersonal skills, Conflict managing skills, Negotiation skills, Problem fixing
skills, Interviewing skills, Presentation skills, Innovation skills, Analytical skills,
Verbal and written conversation skills.
DUTIES : To sketch and independently habits inspections with the purpose of making sure
compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Act eighty five of 1993,
Regulations and included Standards. Plan, look into and finalise
independently incidents and complaints stated pertaining to the OHS Act and
other applicable policies and implement as and when necessary, show up in Court
as a State witness. Plan and habits allotted proactive inspections as per
schedule to screen compliance with the OHS and different applicable labour
legislations together with compiling and consolidating reviews emanating from such
inspections. Plan and habits advocacy campaigns on all different applicable labour
legislation independently, analyse have an impact on thereof, consolidate and assemble
report. Contribute at a greater degree to planning, drafting and protection of
regional inspection plans and reviews including, execution of evaluation and
compilation of consolidated statistical reviews on regional and allotted cases.
